Planning a room for a portable chamber
Portable soft-sided chambers such as the Respiro 270, Vitaeris 320, and Quamvis 320 are used in homes and smaller clinics. When you measure, allow for:
- The inflated chamber. Use the diameter and length above as the minimum footprint.
- Getting in and out. Leave clear floor beside the entry so the user can enter and exit without climbing over furniture.
- The compressor. Each system includes a CleanAir compressor that sits outside the chamber, so leave floor space for it next to the chamber.
- Power. A 110-120V outlet within reach of the compressor.
- A helper, if needed. Follow the instructions for use on whether a second person should be present.
The Quamvis 320 adds a rigid external steel frame, so plan for the frame as well as the chamber. Portable chambers can be deflated and packed if the room is needed for something else.
Planning a room for a clinical hard-sided chamber
The Fortius 420 and Fortius 420 EXP are steel pressure vessels that operate up to 4.0 ATA. Planning for them is a facilities question as much as a floor-space question:
- Weight. 1,250 lbs for the Fortius 420 and 1,400 lbs for the Fortius 420 EXP. Confirm floor loading with your building.
- Delivery path. Measure doorways, corridors, and elevators. The Fortius 420 EXP uses a split design for sites with limited access.
- Installation. OxyHealth certified technicians complete installation, assembly, and calibration, and provide training.
- Facility safety. Hyperbaric safety also involves facility and fire-safety controls addressed by NFPA 99. Requirements depend on your jurisdiction and facility type, so review them with your local authority and safety officer.

Safety in the room
Follow the chamber's instructions for use and your facility's safety policy regarding ignition sources and electronic devices.
